Dear Sir,

Thank you for sharing Dr. Roy Chowdhury's letter with me. I think it deserves publication in our journal to make-up for the omissions that she points out. I have in my article apologized for any inadvertent and of course unintentional lapses.

By the way the lady is wrong when she says that 1947-1948 was the pre-endotracheal tube era of anaesthesia. Ivan Magill described his tube just after or during the 1st World War. This fact should be corrected when the letter is published. Arthur Guedel introduced the cuffed tube in 1928.
